Friends of Pono

Friends of Pono is a New York City non-profit organization that focuses on children, nature, and EQUITY.

We support, foster, and advance learner-centered and outdoor environmental education programs in inner-city schools.

Friends of Pono is recognized in the United States as tax-exempt through section 501c-3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Friends of Pono solicits donations from interested individuals, charitable and educational organizations, corporations, agencies, and other interested institutions. It also receives grants in aid from federal, state, and local governments and subdivisions thereof for the purpose of promoting learner-centered and outdoor education.
